“When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. When you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their souls!”
– Ted Grant
I’m not sure I’ve ever shared a blog post made up of only black and white photographs, but this session and these images speak to me in such a way that while I love the color versions as well, the black and whites just drew me in. The play between light and shadow as it curves along a small round cheek, the added emphasis on that flaky, peeling newborn skin and the connection between this beautiful mother and daughter all became so much more intense when the colors were removed. What do you think? Are you a color or a black & white fan?
The details are perfectly documented and the way you’ve shared these as black and white make them timeless and simply beautiful in every way.
