As a mother, I know all too well that feeling of just wanting to hold your baby and never let them grow up. And yet we celebrate all their new skills and look forward to their next milestones. It’s a constant push and pull of emotions. That’s why I think portraits are so important. We can’t hold them in place, as much as we’d sometimes like to, but we can document each milestone to ensure you will always have something to remember their unique quirks and funny faces and chubby little hands holding yours. And I encourage you NOT TO WAIT.

You see, when you’re in the trenches you really don’t think about when it will end. You’re there, you’re busy, you’re enjoying the moments when they come. But as precious as those moments are, they become only more precious with time. These images will mean so much more to both mother and baby when some time has passed and these moments are only a distant memory. I encourage you to find a way to document those things that mean the most to you and your baby right now. Whether it’s nursing, the way she holds your hand or twirls your hair while she falls asleep in your arms, how he sucks his thumb and wraps his arms around your neck, whatever it is that is special between you and your baby, make sure it’s documented!

If you’re interested in scheduling a session with me to create some beautiful images with your little one, please contact me! There’s no time like the present.
