Mamas, tell me, do you find those first 6 months as blurry in your memory as I do? I remember small things, good things and funny things, but after having 5 babies, I really don’t have the memory bank I wish I did (baby brain IS a thing!). That’s why images have always been so very important to me. Because when you have a baby (especially if it’s not your first baby) you are BUSY. A lot of those first 6 months are spent simply surviving. Feeding, changing, bathing baby and then also caring for your other children, home and yourself is kinda overwhelming at times. I think it’s amazing how we are able to balance it all and nurture our loved ones in the midst of this sleep-deprived state while recovering after 9 months of carrying and then delivering a baby. You are all my heroes!

Want to know why I love all these images? Since August is my nephew, I’ve seen him grow and change SO much in the last 6 months. He’s super chunky and adorable and that sweet little neck is nowhere to be seen as his cheeks have taken over. That flaky newborn skin has disappeared. And their family dynamic has changed so much. He’s a part of their world that they can’t imagine living without. And that’s what I love the most… that these images show August just how much he is loved.
