This newborn session was special because Opa and Nana came with and acquiesced to my begging to be in portraits with their very first grandchild. Rory had been so wonderful for me, we’d done some posed portraits and some natural baby-led portraits but my heart always lies in the images in the arms of babies loved ones. Those are the images that make my heart skip a beat, especially knowing the personal stories behind them. Seeing Nana fighting back tears as she breathed in that sweet newborn scent and that contagious grin spreading from Rorys face to mamas… those are the images that make this session special and unique to this family. It’s easy enough to create the exact same images for every newborn session. For me the challenge, the magic, lies in creating personal images with memories attached that forever connect the participants to this precious moment.
